Abstract

A simple method based on capillary zone electrophoresis was proposed for the analysis of hydrazine and its methyl derivatives. Borate carrier electrolyte (pH 7.18) was found to be best for the complete resolution of hydrazine, methylhydrazine, N,N(-dimethylhydrazine, and N,N-dimethylhydrazine. The described method is modestly sensitive (detection limit about 1.10-3 mol.l-1) and proved suitable for rapid identification and quantitative evaluation of the analyzed substances in aqueous solutions.
